A child of the king shouldn’t live like a slave of the world

Says a lot, doesn’t it? Formal slavery is indeed dead in most of the world. Yet, there is a form of slavery that continues to hamstring Christians. When we accept Christ, we become a child of the king of kings, and we are set free from our sins. The problem is, we choose to continue being slaves to many societal traditions and trends, so much so we lose our identity in Christ, becoming slaves to the world. Even a mundane mobile phone can enslave us!

So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child;

Galatians 4:7

Yes, you are not meant to be a slave. God sees you as a son, a daughter and as his heir (Galatians 4:7). Cut yourself free from whatever is enslaving you. It is time to live a life as a child of the king…

Child of the king

My Father is rich in houses and lands,
He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,
His coffers are full, He has riches untold.

I’m a child of the King,
A child of the King:
With Jesus my Saviour,

My Father’s own Son, the Saviour of men,
Once wandered on earth as the poorest of them;
But now He is pleading our pardon on high,
That we may be His when He comes by and by.

I’m a child of the King,
A child of the King:
With Jesus my Savior

I once was an outcast stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice, an alien by birth,
But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down,
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

I’m a child of the King,
A child of the King:
With Jesus my Savior

A tent or a cottage, why should I care?
They’re building a palace for me over there;
Though exiled from home, yet still may I sing:
All glory to God, I’m a child of the King.
