Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

Isaiah 2:22

Many believe in God, they do believe that He exists; but they struggle to place their trust in Him, turning to man instead.

Are you one of them?.

The Oxford dictionary defines Trust as a “Firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something”.

Most of the time we are grasping at straws when it comes to finding someone who’s reliability, truth and ability we can place firm belief in. That does not imply that no one can be trusted. However, it’s not hard to acknowledge that it is all too easy for us to let others down.

The Bible captures this fact in saying that every human is flawed (Romans 3:12).

The question is not about trusting people but whether or not to put your trust IN people. Many of us have had our world crumble when a friend or someone dear let us down. God’s view in this matter is crystal clear though – STOP trusting in man! So much in this world can clutter up our understanding of this truth and orient us towards trust in men.

Christ must be our anchor, and we must learn to cultivate God trusting hearts.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5

Start trusting God

People will disappoint and let you down. But the Lord’s love is steadfast, it never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, and great is His faithfulness.(Lam. 3:22-23). You can trust him. And when we trust God with all our hearts, there will be no room for disappointments. It’s about time we stop trusting man and start trusting God!
